Why Wellness Matters More Than Ever
Wellness is something I’m truly passionate about.
My health journey has had its share of ups and downs, and I’ve worked hard to support and improve my overall well-being. Now that I’m in midlife, that desire to feel good and stay strong is more important to me than ever.

I want to feel good as I get older—not just okay, but strong and capable. I don’t want to struggle to get off the couch. I don’t want to feel unsteady on my feet. I want to kayak, hike, travel, and enjoy making memories with my family without my body holding me back. That’s why I’m making intentional choices now—not to chase a swimsuit body, but to invest in my old lady body. Because what I do today will either support or limit what I’m able to do tomorrow.

Midlife can be a very interesting season. Our hormones start shifting, and with that shift comes a wave of changes we didn’t see coming. Aches and pains show up without warning. The scale may start creeping up even when we haven’t changed our habits. Fatigue, brain fog, and mysterious hair in unexpected places (hello, random chin hair!) become part of the conversation. It can feel overwhelming, confusing, or even a little discouraging.

But it doesn’t have to be all downhill from here.

Progress Over Perfection
I believe midlife is actually a powerful time to lean into wellness—not out of fear, but out of a desire to thrive in this next season. For me, it’s not about perfection. It’s about progress. It’s about giving my body the tools and support it needs so I can keep doing the things I love. Whether that’s getting out in nature, keeping up with family, or simply feeling comfortable in my own skin—wellness helps make it all possible.

If you’re navigating the surprises of midlife too, I want to encourage you: you’re not alone. If you are past midlife and feel like your body isn't where you'd like it to be, I see you. And it’s not too late to make changes that matter. We may not be able to control everything about getting older, but we can choose to take care of ourselves in a way that builds strength, energy, and confidence for the years ahead.

Over the next few blog posts, I’ll be diving into five key areas that I believe are essential for supporting your health in midlife. These are practical, doable shifts that can make a huge difference in how you feel—now and for years to come.

Here’s to working on our old lady bodies—and loving the journey along the way.

Meet Lisa Bailey

Life hands you things you don’t expect sometimes.

When I was 33 years old, I lost my husband to cancer after a 3 ½ year battle.  At the time, I had two small kids and was trying to do it all - homeschooling, run a small business, single parenting, make everything from scratch, eat healthy and take care of myself. I was afraid of stopping. I was afraid of feeling.  I was afraid.

Eventually, my body crashed.  I was grieving deeply, struggling physically, dealing with anxiety, and I didn’t know how to move out of that place.  God orchestrated circumstances and placed people in my life to help me deal with these issues through counseling, moving, and starting fresh.  He opened the door and helped me heal both emotionally and physically, and placed resources in my life that have made a huge difference.

I now feel better than I have in many years and have healed from many things. Grief still shows up, and I have to pull back and work through it, but because I am healthier, it doesn’t consume me. Restoration and healing didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen.

You don’t have to do this alone.  Let me walk this journey with you to hope and wellness.
