Why Wellness Matters More Than Ever
When it comes to wellness, stress is one of the most underestimated enemies. It sneaks in quietly—through overpacked schedules, unrealistic expectations, grief we haven’t fully processed, or simply trying to carry too much for too long.

One of the most important things I’ve learned is this: wellness isn’t just about what we do—it's also about what we let go of.

5. Peace Over Pressure: Reducing Stress and Finding Rest

Every key area we’ve talked about so far—daily movement, nourishing nutrition, removing toxins, and taking quality supplements—works together to support your body and reduce physical stress. But even when we’re doing all the “right” things, we can still feel worn out, especially if we’re carrying stress in our hearts and minds.

That’s why I believe true wellness also requires SOUL REST.

 In Matthew 11:28–30, Jesus says:

"Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, depleted, or stretched too thin—friend, you’re not alone. Life in midlife (and beyond) can be full of unexpected weight: grief, change, physical challenges, and emotional heaviness. But Jesus invites us to lay those burdens down. He offers rest—not just for our bodies, but for our souls.

Part of reducing stress means learning to SAY NO to things that aren’t yours to carry. It means simplifying where you can, prioritizing what truly matters, and giving yourself permission to rest—without guilt.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to push through every hard day alone. Your strength doesn’t come from doing more—it comes from abiding in the One who knows you, sees you, and walks with you through every season.

As we wrap up this wellness series, I want to remind you: this journey isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about small, faithful steps. It’s about choosing to care for your body and soul so you can keep living fully—whatever that looks like for you.

You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are beloved.
And there is still so much good ahead.

Here’s to showing up for yourself, trusting the process, and embracing God's grace that carries us every step of the way.

We’re in this together. And I’m cheering you on.

Meet Lisa Bailey

Life hands you things you don’t expect sometimes.

When I was 33 years old, I lost my husband to cancer after a 3 ½ year battle.  At the time, I had two small kids and was trying to do it all - homeschooling, run a small business, single parenting, make everything from scratch, eat healthy and take care of myself. I was afraid of stopping. I was afraid of feeling.  I was afraid.

Eventually, my body crashed.  I was grieving deeply, struggling physically, dealing with anxiety, and I didn’t know how to move out of that place.  God orchestrated circumstances and placed people in my life to help me deal with these issues through counseling, moving, and starting fresh.  He opened the door and helped me heal both emotionally and physically, and placed resources in my life that have made a huge difference.

I now feel better than I have in many years and have healed from many things. Grief still shows up, and I have to pull back and work through it, but because I am healthier, it doesn’t consume me. Restoration and healing didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen.

You don’t have to do this alone.  Let me walk this journey with you to hope and wellness.
