As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more aware of the everyday things that quietly chip away at our health—and one of the biggest culprits is endocrine disruptors. These are chemicals found in many common household and personal care products, and they can interfere with our hormones in ways that lead to inflammation, fatigue, mood swings, and even long-term health problems.
Hormones are already shifting in midlife, and I don’t want to add fuel to that fire. That’s why I’ve made it a priority to remove as many endocrine disruptors from my home as I can.
3. Clearing Out the Hidden Toxins: Why Reducing Endocrine Disruptors Matters
Let’s start with BODY PRODUCTS. From lotion and deodorant to shampoo and makeup, most conventional products are full of synthetic fragrances, parabens, and other hormone-disrupting chemicals. I’ve switched to cleaner alternatives—many of which I either make myself or buy from trusted sources like Young Living, where I know the ingredients are safe and plant-based.
HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS are another major offender. The truth is, you don’t need a shelf full of toxic sprays to have a clean home. You can clean almost your entire house with baking soda and vinegar, and when you add essential oils like Thieves, lemon, tea tree, or lavender, it not only smells amazing but also boosts the cleaning power. If you want an easy button for plant-based, effective cleaning products, here are the ones I trust and use: Thieves Happy, Healthy Home Kit. I love knowing that my home is truly clean—not just surface-level clean but toxin-free clean.

Making these changes hasn’t been about achieving perfection overnight. It’s been a gradual, intentional shift toward creating a home that supports my body instead of stressing it.
Our bodies are wonderfully made—and they do so much for us. Clearing out hidden toxins is one powerful way to return the favor. As I simplify my space and swap out harmful products, I’m not just cleaning my home—I’m creating an environment that helps me feel more energized, more balanced, and better equipped to thrive in this season of life.
